A reader-first website
This site presents Rafe Thorncroft’s books and publication information. There are no user accounts, checkout forms, advertising pixels or newsletter forms in this version of the site.
Cookies and browser storage
The website code does not set cookies or use persistent local storage. When you choose to pause or play the sea animation, it saves that preference in session storage for the current browser tab. This lets your choice follow you when you return from a book page. The value stays in your browser and is not sent to us. If browser storage is blocked, the control still works for the current page. Your browser’s reduced-motion and data-saving preferences are used to decide whether the decorative sea animation should start automatically.
Hosting
The public site is hosted on Cloudflare. To deliver and protect the site, connection information such as IP addresses and request details may be processed by the hosting provider to deliver and protect the site. This is separate from the website’s own code.
External links
Book-purchase links take you to Amazon. Amazon controls its own website, prices, availability, cookies and purchase process. This site does not receive your payment details. Retailer links in this version contain no affiliate tracking code.
